This is potentially the biggest week of the NHL lockout. More specifically, Thursday is the biggest day. It is the deadline to save a full 82-game season. There have been rumors going around that if there is no deal in place by Thursday, there will be no season at all.
I believe this week is enormous, however do not believe this week is make it or break it for the entire season. I think Thanksgiving is a more realistic timeframe for the entire season to be scrapped. The situation is different from that of the National Basketball Association, but the NBA started their season in December last year. By reaching an agreement by Thanksgiving, the NHL could potentially do the same this season. Hopefully it won’t come to that. Every fan has their fingers crossed that come Thursday; the 82-game schedule will be saved. We pray to the Hockey Gods to grant our wish. Let there be hockey!
