  • Lars Eller was released from the hospital yesterday after receiving a brutal hit from Ottawa’s Eric Gryba. Gryba is currently serving a 2-game suspension for the hit. Eller suffered a concussion and a broken nose on the play. (NBC Sports)
  • Kings captain Dustin Brown has delivered a few borderline hits in his career, but in Game 2 of the Blues/Kings series, not only did he blatantly stick his knee out and caught Blues forward Jaden Schwartz’s leg, but he flashed his elbow as well. Luckily, it didn’t connect. (St. Louis Game Time)
  • New Islanders jerseys to accompany the team when they head to Brooklyn? Come on, you didn’t actually believe the team owner when he said he wouldn’t change the jerseys. Did you? (Backhand Shelf)

  • It’s the playoffs. So here come the Playoff Beards. But we some cheaters, so to speak. I think it’s fair if we give Henrik Zetterberg a pass though. That’s like, his thing. (Puck Daddy)
  • If you’re a player in the Habs/Sens series, beware. No one is safe, not even the most protected guys on the ice, the goalies. In back-to-back games, both starting goalies have had teeth knocked out. First Senator Craig Anderson, now Canadien Carey Price. Watch out, coaches… (CBC)
  • Flyers’ Ilya Brzygalov absolutely RIPPED the Philly media in his closing interview. “Before you’re writing something you’ve got to read what you’re writing. I’m two years here. I never saw it like good article with everything, like, ‘Flyers lose the game because this, this, this, this, this. They need to improve their game like this, this, this or this.’ I never.” Woof! (Puck Daddy)
  • In addition to NHL playoff hockey, the IIHF World Championships are a thing that’s happening. (NHL)
  • Don “Grapes” Cherry is still talking about how women shouldn’t be allowed in the men’s locker room. He says,”I have seen things and I have heard of things that go on in the dressing room when the women are in there (that) are disgusting. If (players) are going to act the way they act … you would not want your daughter or sister in there, believe me.” Well, when you put it that way. (Toronto Sun)
  • VIDEO: Canadiens forward Brandon Prust sounded off on Senators coach Paul MacLean yesterday. This comes on the heels of the Gryba-Eller hit the night before. Name-calling. Nice. (YouTube)
  • VIDEO: Top 10 Plays of the season. Yes, the Pavel Datsyuk and Dan Boyle coast-to-coast goals made the cut. Oh, and Patrick Kane is filthy with those spin-o-ramas. (YouTube)
  • VIDEO: As I mentioned last week, EA Sports has revamped the hitting for NHL14. Players can get rag-dolled now. They also hinted at the new fight mini-game. (YouTube)
