Hockey Canada bans bodychecking for players under the age of 13.

  • Hockey Canada bans bodychecking in pee-wee hockey. It was voted on today and hitting has now been taken out of the game for players under the age of 13. (CBC)
  • On June 4th, the Dallas Stars will be unveiling a new jersey. They will feature an all new logo, but the green and gold color scheme will remain. Two logos were leaked and are currently circulating on the internet. Could they in fact be the new Stars logo(s)? (Dallas Stars)
  • On June 4th, the Carolina Hurricanes will be also be unveiling new home and road jerseys. The logo, as well as the red, black, and silver color scheme, will remain. (Carolina Hurricanes)
  • Sidney Crosby has been through a lot. Every time he’s on the ice, there’s always someone trying to eliminate his impact from the game. They have all failed. But mozzarella stick almost eliminated Sidney Crosby completely. That would’ve sucked. (Sportsnet)

  • Flyers forward Jake Voracek was involved in a car accident in his hometown of Kladno, Czech Republic on Wednesday. Though his Ferrari was mangled during impact, he sustained no injuries. (Courier Post)
  • The Pavel-Datsyuk-to-Russia rumors don’t seem to be going away anytime soon. As recently as Friday, Datsyuk’s agent has been dispelling rumors that his client has signed with a KHL team. A report out of Russia claimed Datsyuk “had reached a tentative agreement on a three-year deal”. His agent responded to the rumors saying,”It’s all B.S. rumors, you can’t believe it. It’s stupid rumors, not from me, not from Pavel.” (Michigan Live)

  • According to Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has scheduled meetings with he and city council members on Tuesday morning, where it’s expected Bettman will lay out an ownership plan for the Coyotes. Wait, what? The Coyotes may finally get sold? Yeah, I’ve heard that before. (NBC Sports)
